Questions
How do I edit a FIT file?
Choose the edit that matches the problem, such as adjusting activity time, changing sport, removing a section, or correcting power values. Add your FIT file, review the available settings, and download the edited copy. Switchback processes the file in your browser and leaves the source unchanged on your device.
Can I edit a FIT file without Garmin software?
Yes. Switchback includes browser-based FIT editors for common changes to timestamps, sport, device details, activity sections, elevation, and sensor fields. Select the relevant editor, make the adjustment, then save the new FIT file. No Garmin desktop application or account is required, and the file is not uploaded.
Can I change heart rate or power in a FIT file?
Yes. Use the field merger to copy heart rate or power from another recording, the spike remover to cap bad readings, or the power editor to scale recorded watts. The available fields depend on the source files. Keep the original FIT and review the downloaded copy before importing it into another service.
